Confirmed Announcements
I sent in press releases to both Nanaimo daily newspaper companies: basically the call to sponsors and other interested parties. I’ll try to get the same out to radio and TV this weekend, but still trying to get proper media contacts list together after all.
Next week another release/PSA about the activities, and asking if reporters interested in interviews, articles.
Any preference for colour of paper for the posters?
I was sent a partial contacts list, so I’ve sent out a release basically calling for sponsors, participants (like the participation letter) to:
Local newspapers and Gabriola Sounder,
A Channel and Shaw TV
Nicole can send out to CHLY, Green Solutions Energy Show list, Synergy, Co-op.

Just a thought that came up when at the NALT Nursery:
Perhaps we could send posters to schools: elementary and high schools-this could be an educational volunteer poster asking for volunteers…they could contact Charles and I think get volunteer hours for it?

I will post a portion of this email on the blog for Media and perhaps Lorelei will get in contact with her – for potential notice on Earth Day poster of tote/bag swap but I must discuss with planning committee to confirm space etc. And perhaps we can distribute flyers through woodgrove? I had a quick meeting today with Nola Dunn, who is the marketing director of Woodgrove Centre. They are planning a great TOTE/PLASTIC BAG swap for the month of April, around Earth Day.
I gave her some leads on the Green Solutions show and the Earth Day event, both of which are running during their Plastic Bag event (April 17-April 30).

There is another banner from last year that I painted. Says ‘love your home everyday.’
Press should be sent out to TV at least 3 weeks before. 1 week ok for papers. What about radio? I have lots of contacts!!!! I can help with the PR.
