Dear Friends,
We are beginning to plan celebration for “Earth Day Nanaimo 2008”, and we invite any interested parties to join the planning committee. We welcom your expertise andinvite you to share your enthusiasm to make “Earth Day Nanaimo 2008” a success!
Also, please join us in contributing one or more of the following:
• Entertainment (dancers, musicians, etc.)
• Supporters of the environment that want to promote their goods (vendors, artists, etc.)
• Food concessions
• Information booths
• Guest Speakers
• Monetary donations
• Media Coverage
** Please note: All food concessions must have a health permit and fill out the proper city paperwork in order to sell food. All vendors must have a business license to sell their goods. **
Please contact the Earth Day Nanaimo Committee specifying if – and how – you would like to participate!

This looks like a great framework to fill in as we gather names of participants, sponsors, etc. and flesh out our plans. Thanks so much for organizing this!
I guess the Green Party is the first to go in sponsors.

The Nanaimo Community Band participated in Earth Day activities last year at Maffeo Sutton. We would like to do so again if possible. Despite the rain, people enjoyed the music.
You should contact our director, Ted Dawe at 722-3088 or endawe@shaw.ca to make arrangements if you would like us again. We have 2 bands, concert and stage (dance type music), around 35 in stage band and around 23 in stage band.
